In love with nature and passionate about Stand Up Paddle! I quickly became aware of the importance and impact of outdoor sports on both physical and mental health. I discovered Stand Up Paddle in July 2017 and immediately connected with it—the feeling came naturally. Since 2018, it has become my main sport after horse riding! Both disciplines are deeply connected to nature and to oneself, which is extremely beneficial for the body and the mind. Balance exercises are a major asset for maintaining good joint health and are a powerful ally for overall well-being.
Face the Wave is a structure dedicated to teaching and discovering Stand Up Paddle in Algeria. Led by a Paddling Canada–certified instructor, the project is designed for anyone wishing to discover this water sport in a safe, accessible, and deeply human environment. Mainly based in the Tamentfoust area, Face the Wave promotes a practice that combines well-being, self-confidence, and a strong connection with the sea.
Face the Wave stands out for its commitment to developing and strengthening women’s presence in SUP. The goal is to offer a welcoming and motivating environment for all women who want to start paddleboarding or improve their skills. Coaching is done with care and pedagogy, in a supportive atmosphere where each participant is encouraged, empowered, and motivated to surpass her own limits.
Introducing children to SUP is also a key mission of Face the Wave. Lessons are offered once the child shows good body stability, generally around the ages of 6 to 8, with exercises adapted to their age. Safety is a priority: suitable weather conditions, clear instructions, adjusted equipment, and, if necessary, a secure connection between the instructor’s board and the child’s board. The goal is to let children discover SUP while having fun, building confidence, and enjoying a special connection with the water.
Face the Wave adapts to each student’s level, respects individual learning rhythms, and always teaches the discipline with rigor, kindness, and passion.
Thanks to an internationally recognized Canadian certification, the courses are based on solid and structured teaching methods. Each session is adapted to the participant’s level: discovery, initiation, balance improvement, paddle technique, and basic navigation skills. Safety is an absolute priority for both adults and children, with special attention to weather conditions, equipment, and technical gestures.
Face the Wave is not limited to technical lessons. It is a space where participants live a true experience: enjoying the sea, learning to read waves, feeling their bodies grow stronger, discovering glide sensations, and above all, having fun. Sessions always take place in a friendly atmosphere, combining physical effort, relaxation, and self-discovery. Activities can also evolve toward a more competitive dimension for those wishing to train for races.
Beyond simple learning, Face the Wave is gradually building a community of paddle enthusiasts in Algeria. Beginners and experienced paddlers alike find a space for exchange, progress, and sharing. The family-friendly atmosphere and the coach’s commitment create a positive environment that attracts more and more women, children, and young people eager to discover this emerging sport.
If you are a beginner and want to truly enjoy the benefits of Stand Up Paddle—this activity tones the legs, core, and arms, improves balance, concentration, and proprioception without impacting your joints, and boosts morale! SUP is a complete sport that requires proper guidance to avoid injuries or dangerous situations.
Our goal is to highlight your progress, offer you an excellent initiation, and make you live an exciting experience. If you already practice paddleboarding and want to progress toward a more athletic and competitive level, we are here to support you and help you reach your sporting goals.

First of all, it is a choice of the heart. This spot is where I grew up—it brings back memories of my childhood and teenage years. It is also a rational choice, as safety is our top priority. I know this area well, have assessed the risks, and it is a secure spot. It is a sheltered area with small waves close to the shore, and if the wind suddenly picks up, there are several exit points allowing an easy return to land. This makes Tamentfoust one of the best locations for SUP initiation, leisure paddling, and progression. It is the perfect training ground before moving on to other beautiful spots in Algeria that require more experience, confidence, and strong water awareness.
