Ahmed Naas – “Ahmed the Ecologist”

A passionate environmental activist, Ahmed Naas, nicknamed Ahmed the Ecologist, has made it his mission to reduce plastic use in Algeria and raise public awareness about the importance of preserving our environment. His objective is clear: to contribute to building a greener and more sustainable Algeria.

To implement his initiatives, he mobilizes citizens and volunteers for field projects, such as beach or natural site clean-up operations. The funds and support he receives are used to purchase the necessary equipment to combat pollution: garbage bags, grabbers, gloves, masks, and rakes.

Ahmed the Ecologist highlights three pillars in his commitment:

• Plastic Reduction: less pollution and more protection for our planet.

• Collective Responsibility: everyone can play a role by changing their habits.

• Environmental Awareness: informing and educating on environmental issues specific to Algeria.

His action is not limited to theory. As part of his major national challenge, the DZ Challenge, organized over two months, he mobilized volunteers across Algeria, from the coast to the inland forests. Together, they collected every piece of waste as an act of love for the earth, contributing to preserving the beauty of nature and protecting the future of coming generations.

Through his initiatives, Ahmed reminds us that protecting Algeria's rich but sometimes threatened flora and fauna requires a reduction in our plastic consumption and collective commitment.
